Who You Are

We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure and Security Division and support in the provision of Cloud Engineering Service to our clients. Responsibilities involve working with cloud infrastructures and services, utilizing various cloud service models (IaaS and PaaS), and implementing leading-edge technologies like OpenStack, Docker, and Kubernetes. The primary objective is to optimize multi-cloud environments for unified and efficient platforms.

The successful candidate will contribute to creating an agile, secure, and efficient digital environment, enhancing the user experience, safeguarding data, and advancing monitoring in relevant fields.

What You Will Focus on

  • Design, implement, and deploy new services in cloud environments;
  • Evaluate technical prerequisites, performance criteria, and security considerations for efficient deployment;
  • Conduct routine checks, upgrades, and implementation of patches;
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate downtime for updates;
  • Design and implement optimal deployment strategies for new use cases;
  • Use tools like Terraform to automate the creation of cloud infrastructure;
  • Continuously monitor cloud system performance and security;
  • Track system utilization and proactively address capacity needs;
  • Resolve issues related to the cloud system;
  • Provide guidance on usage, troubleshoot problems, and offer system training;
  • Seamlessly integrate new technologies into existing cloud systems;
  • Minimize disruption to end-users during system evolutions;
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Security Frameworks;
  • Implement robust data protection measures and adhere to regulations and standards;
  • Implement disaster recovery strategies to minimize data loss and ensure quick system restoration in case of failure;
  • Contribute to 360° technology monitoring;
  • Participate in SWOT analysis, proof of concepts, and presentations;
  • Collaborate with other industry providers on monitoring and anomalies resolutions.

What You Bring

  • A university degree in Computer Sciences (or equivalent);
  • At least 5 years’ experience as IT Engineer in a customer facing role;
  • The successful candidate will have strong goal-oriented and planning capabilities, coupled with very good problem-solving skills and a pronounced customer focus;
  • Applicants should have strong communication and collaboration skills, be able to work in a diverse team environment and accomplish goals in line with team objectives;
  • Experience with operational 24/7 production computing environments and the related issues, constraints and best practices;
  • Interest in learning and dealing with modern technologies.

Essentially

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience;
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English;
  • Experience in cloud computing architectures, including deployments, scaling, and managing applications in the cloud;
  • Experience with version control systems like Git;
  • Familiarity with the OpenStack platform, including deployment, management, and troubleshooting of infrastructure and services (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, Heat);
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible;
  • Knowledge of serverless architecture patterns and the ability to design and implement serverless applications;
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes;
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience in Linux system administration;
  • Sound understanding of cloud networking concepts, including virtual private clouds, security groups, network access control lists, subnetting, routing, and VPN;
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Bash, PowerShell, or Python for cloud infrastructure management and configuration;
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues in a cloud environment, covering application, network, and infrastructure challenges;
  • Practical experience with at least one of the following architectures: FaaS, serverless, or service mesh;
  • Proficiency in developing and deploying Cloud-Native Applications;
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Testing (CT), and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices and principles, including familiarity with CI/CT/CD tools and frameworks;
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban, including experience with agile project management tools like Trello, Jira, or Asana.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with AI/ML in the cloud (practical implementation of algorithms and ML environments would be advantageous);
  • Familiarity with ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) Stack for log management and analysis;
  • Familiarity with DASK and Apache Airflow;
  • German knowledge;
  • ITILv3/v4 Certification.
