Job Description
- Project Manager for the spacecraft - an Orbit Transfer Vehicle intended to carry smallsats to GEO orbit
- Supervise and monitor the R&D of the spacecraft
- Alignment of the R&D with the European Commission Grant as well as the key objectives of the spacecraft
- Tracking status of development and ensuring timely delivery of HW and SW to the Consortium
- Organization and chairing of consortium meetings (in-person and online), ensure appropriate communication across different Partners/Suppliers
- Lead and elaborate key financial and technical deliverables and deliver those to the European Commission
- Main responsible for technical requirements' management across all subsystems of the spacecraft
- Elaborate key design decision drivers for the spacecraft OTV
- Complete Mass, Power, Delta-v budget
- Conduct Launcher feasibility studies in terms of Volume, CoG, etc. including the use of CAD
- Discern the mission profile and CONOPS of the spacecraft OTV to optimize it for marketability
- Design the overall Data Handling System of the spacecraft, ensuring that all HW are compatible on the same CAN bus
- Work with subsystem suppliers at all phases - SoW definition, negotiation, monitoring and reviewing deliverables
- Responsible technically for the satellite systems engineering
- Participate in interfacing IO's RdV GNC system with the platform (esp. ADCS)
- Work directly with the CTO and a team of system engineers
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 1-2 years of professional experience
- Strong knowledge of satellite architecture and systems engineering
- Experience with system-level integration and testing satellite subsystems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Experience with systems engineering principles and methodologies applied to satellite projects
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing project requirements in a dynamic environment
- Ability to travel within the European Union
- Proficiency in English
Good to have:
- Experience with MBSE software, writing requirements and managing them
- Experience in satellite systems or subsystems development
- Experience in test preparation and execution for space applications
- Knowledge of Space Standards (CCSDS, ECSS, PUS) and ground/space protocols, as well as various DHS bus protocols
