Function

In order to facilitate our expansion in a fast moving sector, we are looking for an experienced Software Product Assurance Engineer to join our "Quality Management" team. This role is based in our premises in Brussels (Hoeilaart) and Liège.

The Quality Management team provides support to projects in order to ensure that customer requirements are met. It works independently of projects, verifying compliance with product assurance (PA) requirements. It also operates at company level to ensure compliance with the ISO 9001 standard.

Under the responsibility of the Quality Manager, your role will be to:

  • Act as a PA engineer on projects:
    • Analyse the customer’s SW PA requirements and prepare the project specific SW product assurance plan taking into account the criticality of the software;
    • Ensure conformance with SW engineering and PA requirements during a project execution and promptly report deviations;
    • Provide regular reports on SW product assurance activities;
    • Participate in SW project reviews with our customers such as ESA and CNES.
  • Work on the company quality management system:
    • Maintain quality management system documentation;
    • Collaborate on enhancing software standards, methodologies and tools;
    • Conduct internal audits.

Profile

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering;
  • Several years’ experience in software product assurance;
  • Experience with ECSS or NASA Space software standards;
  • Additional expertise in (or knowledge of) the following areas would be considered as an asset for this position:
    • Experience with IT tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Redmine, SonarQube ...;
    • Agile practices;
    • Quality assurance for Machine Learning models;
    • (Cyber-)security assurance;
    • Hands-on experience with static code analysis and tools;
    • Knowledge of software DO standards (DO-178, DO-254).
  • A sound level of technical English is essential, both for reading technical documents and for drafting documentation;
  • You are service-oriented and willing to listen and respond to your colleagues’ needs.
