Your missions and responsibilities will be as follows:

As part of the development of its launcher, Sirius Space Services is looking to recruit a test Bench Manager to be responsible for the development of liquid rocket engine test equipment and operation.

In collaboration with the other teams, your missions will be:

  • Design of test benches for the propulsive and stage equipment and deliver the systems on cost, on quality, on time;
  • Design of fluidic and mechanical interfaces between the prototypes and existing test benches (proprietary and external);
  • Design of fluidic or mechanical systems to integrate in the production process of the components to be tested;
  • Sizing of fluidic lines and associated equipment, including tanks, valves, sensors and secondary auxiliary systems;
  • Participation in the design of propulsive and stage equipment to assure the compatibility between the test systems and the parts and guarantee that the parts can be assembled and tested;
  • Negotiation and collaboration with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain components and services;
  • Production of the associated documentation and participation in the risk analysis;
  • Participation in the test campaign and results analysis;
  • Perform assembling, integration and testing activities on the propulsive and stage equipment and produce associated procedures and test results.

Sirius is a dynamic Start-up that evolves rapidly. The researched profile shall adapt to rapid changes as the company expands and be able to perform multiple tasks in parallel and be able to cooperate with the other departments and eventually lead a small team capable of dealing with the missions.

The profile Sirius is looking for:

  • Master’s degree or PHD in aerospace engineering, with a background in propulsion, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, mechanics and automation;
  • 5+ years experience as an engineer working in the aerospace field on test benches and/or ground segment equipment with practical hands-on experience with fluidic systems and engine/stage hot fire tests;
  • Good understanding of thermochemical combustion processes and of the behaviour of cryogenic, reactive and high-pressure fluids and their interaction with the fluidic equipment on the test bench and on the propulsive system;
  • Proven experience in negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors and good knowledge of common industrial and aerospace specific components, technologies and regulations are required;
  • Experience with CADs, P&IDs, Ms Office programs required. Multi domain simulation experience is appreciated (Ecosimpro/Amesim/Labview);
  • Good level of English (speaking, writing and reading, B2 minimum, C1 appreciated) is necessary to work with external suppliers and authorities;
  • Pragmatic and problem solving oriented, capable of multitasking and to produce simple and cost-effective solutions with the available means;
  • Experience with common workshop tools and simple machining processes are highly appreciated.
