The Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading the quality control operations (QCO) team. The scope includes management of relationships with QCO partners, ensuring that processes and systems are in place to design, produce and deliver high quality products to customers.

Job Responsbilities:

Strategy and Development

  • Drive and support continuous improvement and lean initiatives within the quality control, production, and warehouse departments;
  • Define and implement quality control strategies;
  • Develop, review, and implement quality control procedures in alignment with company objectives and industry standards;
  • Lead cross-departmental initiatives to enhance overall product quality.

General Management

  • Organize and manage the day-to-day activities of the Quality Control Operations team;
  • Implement, monitor and report performance metrics (e.g. claims towards suppliers QNs, customer complaints etc.);
  • Identify, implement, and communicate solutions when escalation occurs;
  • Oversee the inspection of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet necessary specifications and quality benchmarks;
  • Monitor the entire production process to ensure that all procedures and activities comply with quality standards;
  • Represent the department during internal and external audits.

People Management

  • Responsible for developing the appropriate organizational structure, resource plans and culture to support the business objectives;
  • Provide leadership, coordination and coaching to the team enabling them to grow and succeed in their roles;
  • Ensure strong communication between teams to facilitate exchange of information, changes, and improvements;
  • Monitor ongoing progress and performance against objectives and identify any actions required;
  • Complete regular performance reviews. Develop and maintain development/training plans;
  • Train and mentor quality control staff on best practices, company policies, and the latest industry regulations and standards.

Required Qualifications and Skill:

  • Master in engineering or equivalent by experience;
  • Min 10 years of practical experience in a Quality Control engineering/industrialization in a similar production environment with a mix of electrical/electronic, optical and mechanical parts;
  • Multi-language, international & intercultural experience;
  • Language know-how: English (must), Dutch, French, any other language being an asset;
  • Knowledge in problem-solving methodologies;
  • Knowledge of production processes;
  • Experience in supplier relationship;
  • Experience in development validation;
  • Knowledge of project management tools for self-management;
  • Experience in people management including competence management, career management, communication techniques and related tools.

Are considered as plus

  • Professional knowledge of products and systems used in aviation or airports;
  • Professional knowledge of relevant international and national standards (FAA, ICAO, …) and CE Directives//IEC standards.
