Mission
The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining flight simulation systems' models and advanced flight control systems. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest level of performance, reliability, and safety in our aerospace technologies.
Key Accountabilities
Design and Development:
- Develop and integrate advanced flight simulation systems and aircraft system and subsystem models for pilot training and advanced design;
- Design and optimize flight control systems, including autopilot and stability augmentation systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations;
- Create detailed design documents, technical specifications, and system architectures.
Testing and Validation:
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of flight simulators and control systems to ensure performance and reliability;
- Utilize simulation software and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing methods to validate system functionality;
- Analyze test data and provide detailed reports and recommendations for system improvements.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with software engineers, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate flight systems and simulators with broader aerospace projects;
- Participate in and occasionally lead design reviews, technical meetings, and project planning sessions;
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders, mentoring junior engineers as needed.
Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and updates on existing models and control systems;
- Implement significant upgrades and enhancements to improve system performance and incorporate new technologies;
- Ensure all systems comply with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Documentation and Training:
- Develop comprehensive user manuals, technical documentation, and training materials for flight simulation systems;
- Conduct advanced training sessions for end-users, including pilots and maintenance personnel, on the operation and maintenance of developed flight systems.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional experience in aerospace engineering or related fields;
- Proven experience in developing and implementing flight control systems and simulation models;
- Strong understanding of flight simulation systems and aircraft control systems;
- Proficiency in designing and optimizing flight control systems;
- Advanced knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations;
- Advanced programming skills in languages such as MATLAB, Simulink, C++, or Python;
- Proficiency with simulation software and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing methods.
