Position

The team is in charge of definining the requirements applicable to the mission in terms of functional requirements for the launch vehicle and its interfaces (mechanical, electrical, fluidic) toward the Payload and to perform the technical coordination for the mission development thoughout all its phases, from preliminary mission design through final mission design and the mission execution itself.

The candidate identified will act as system manager for the mission design and preparation, with the following responsabilities:

  • after capturing the customer needs, he will define the mission requirements through the preliminary mission specification and coordinate the preparation and fulfillment of payload interfaces by preparing and managing dedicated interface control documents;
  • acting as technical coordinator of the multidisciplinary system loops for mission analyses;
  • approving technical analyses for the mission analyses;
  • being the technical interface person for the final customer;
  • being the technical interface person for CNES for mission safety aspects.

The role offers the opportunity to work on the VEGA-C launcher, learning its parts and operation, managing the definition of a complex product in a challenging environment and an extremely innovative sector.It also offers the opportunity to learn the needs and characteristics of VEGA-C customer satellites, thus offering a wide-ranging experience on aerospace products.

Requirements

We will evaluate candidates who have the following requirements:

  • Master Degree in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering;
  • Higher graduation (Second level Master, PhD) constitutes preferential title;
  • competence in coordination and preparation of launcher/satellite interfaces (mechanical, electrical, fluidic) and relevant control of throughout during the mission development;
  • advanced experience in Launcher/Payload Coupled Load Analyses (Mechanical, Thermal, EMC);
  • knowledge of aerothermodynamic analyses for launch vehicles;
  • awareness of mission safety aspects;
  • knowledge of avionic subsystems: functional commands, power systems design, telemetry and launcher/ground;
  • experience and competence to review mission preparation: trajectory design, guidance, navigation and control algorithms, software design;
  • advanced knowledge of English language is a must;
  • knowledge of French language is nice to have.

Periodical transfers to Colleferro (Rome, Italy) are foreseen for alignment with the team.

Occasional transfers to customer facilities may be necessary.
