We want you as a talented AIT Manufacturing Engineer to help us to internalise the manufacturing of critical subsystems in The Exploration Company.

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in the design (or design support) and manufacturing of propulsion pressurised tanks. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of various manufacturing processes including stamping, casting, forging, machining, bending, and welding... This role requires expertise in metal manufacturing (especially aluminium, inconel) as well as elastomers and thermoplastics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Design Team: Collaborate with the design team to develop propulsion pressurised tanks, utilising knowledge of diverse manufacturing processes.
  • Material Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of metal manufacturing, with a focus on aluminium, as well as knowledge of elastomers and thermoplastics.
  • Development Support: Assist in the development phase, ensuring that all processes align with design specifications and project goals.
  • Process Qualification: Take charge of qualifying manufacturing processes and final hardware, adhering to stringent ESA or NASA standards.
  • Standardisation: Define and implement procedures to achieve process qualification and compliance with space industry standards.
  • Previous Experience: Proven track record in tank design and manufacturing, preferably within the space sector but not only.
  • Process Mastery: Demonstrate mastery over all manufacturing processes related to aluminium to ensure the highest quality in space-grade components.
  • Supplier Network: Supporting our procurement team to find the adequate suppliers for processes that we don't want to internalise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on aerospace components as a plus.
  • Familiarity with ESA or NASA manufacturing standards and qualifications is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
