In Pipistrel Vertical Solutions d.o.o. we are looking for a mechanical engineer to join the Mechanical department. Mechanical engineers will contribute to all aspects of the mechanical systems for Pipistrel aircraft. This includes hands-on design, 3D modeling, analysis, development testing, certification, and field support of internally developed and supplier components and systems. A successful candidate will leverage multiple Pipistrel business units (or similar) to contribute individually, as well as take on suitably guided task leadership roles in the various aspects of the design, test, and certification process of the different mechanical system. Candidates will gain knowledge to a lot of different mechanical systems such as composite structure, engine, fuel, fire protection, propeller, auxiliary power unit systems etc...
What will your main scope be?
- Develop 3D solid models and drafts of detail parts, assemblies, and installations.
- Initiate and incorporate innovative designs and concepts utilizing 3D modeling especially CATIA software, aimed at addressing on new and in-service aircraft models.
- Perform research and coordination with Advanced Design Team
- Perform different analysis as required.
- Perform testing of mechanical components and systems to verify performance and compliance with regulations.
- Interface and coordinate with suppliers and customers to resolve new and ongoing aircraft design challenges if needed.
- Peer drawing checking and the release of engineering documents, as well as day-to-day collaboration to resolve design conflicts and interferences.
- Support prototype aircraft assembly design interpretation and occasionally investigate and respond to problems in manufacturability.
- Build prototypes of systems components for testing.
- Analysis of test results and system math modeling with dedicated software.
What do we expect from the candidate?
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a similar technical field required
- Understanding of 2D & 3D design concepts
- Working knowledge of generic CAD design tool processes
- Ability to read and produce 2D drawings using standard industry practices.
- Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs
- Experience in Catia, Inventor, Solid Works - Catia is preferred (3D experience platform)
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Knowledge and/or experience on the relevant topic
- Proactive, self-initiative and team-oriented candidate
- Strong ability to think out of the box.
- Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills.
