About this Job

UARX Space is recruiting an experienced Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to work in our headquarters located in Nigrán, Spain. Your job will be dedicated to the development of spacecraft structures for its use in our in-space transportation missions.

As a part of your daily job you will design, develop, and test spacecraft structures. Simulate environments and make recommendations to be used in the projects currently in development by UARX Space. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team looking for the most innovative flight hardware, spending a good amount of time in the machine shop, designing and testing innovative design prototypes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analysis, production, and verification of new structures for its use in space applications;
  • Plan, schedule, and budget accordingly the design and development process;
  • Research and development of new and innovative additive manufacturing methods;
  • Innovate in the design of spacecraft structures;
  • Support designs with hand calculations of bolt and joints;
  • Act as the mechanical technical responsible, maintaining interfaces with other subsystems;
  • Structural analysis tasks include static/dynamic simulations;
  • Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the structural design;
  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, math models, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the spacecraft lifecycle;
  • Specify tests and conduct test campaigns for the developed hardware, interacting with other subsystems.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or Ph.D degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in designing spacecraft structures;
  • Experience using SolidWorks;
  • Demonstrated experience using FEMAP & NX NASTRAN;
  • Experience with specification of detail design drawings for production;
  • Experience with the tailoring and implementation of ECSS standards;
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Highly organized and proactive with strong attention to detail;
  • Good communication skills and a great team player;
  • "Can-do" attitude, proactive and optimistic;
  • Fluent in English.
