We are seeking a Ground Operation Engineer to join the ESOC external missions section and work with ongoing and upcoming spacecraft supports and launcher tracking.

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Support to ongoing missions;
Support to third-party missions’ preparation;
Launcher tracking support.

Duties will include the following main tasks:

Liaison between missions control teams and ground segment services;
Participation in ground segment configuration definition for new missions or after major modifications;
Generation and maintenance of operational and technical documentation such as Interface Control Documents, Ground Operations Procedures, etc.;
Link budgeting;
Participate in mission-specific technical verification and end-to-end validation;
Conduct mission readiness training prior to critical operations;
Conduct real-time operations (LEOPs, Launcher Tracking);
Follow-up of anomalies investigations and resolution;
Participate in mission-related meetings;

What are the essential and desirable skills we expect from you?

Essential

Experience in real-time operations and operations preparation;
Basic RF knowledge;
Preparation of requirements, design, interfaces, and testing documentation;
Good communication and presentation skills.

Desirable

Relevant technical standards, e.g. CCSDS Space Link Extension (SLE) operation and configuration;
Ground Stations Baseband operation and configuration.
