Description

Tyvak International is seeking new members to join their team to support space vehicle development. Tyvak focuses on developing and integrating key components and technologies into highly integrated and high-performance nano-satellite vehicles. The team’s skillset ranges from architecture, design, build, and test of mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems integrated into small spacecraft.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Program Manager for Space Satellite Development at our Turin (Italy) location. The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to manage the execution of customer contracts. The candidate will be part of the Program Managers team and directly report to the team responsible (VP Programs),

Specific Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a multidisciplinary team.
  • Act as primary interface to the customer and external entities (vendors, suppliers, partners, ) during the whole program duration.
  • Lead all program reviews both internally and customer-facing.
  • Define activities to be executed along the project (short, medium, long term).
  • Management and control of program budget, schedule and risk using Tyvak’s collaborative software tools.
  • Provide regular program status updates to VP Programs and customers.
  • Contribute towards continuous technology and process improvement.
  • Support proposal preparation as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in a technical field (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or related degree) or Business with experience leading engineering teams.
  • From 2 to 5 years of work experience (not including school) in the space industry.
  • Experience as a responsible Systems engineer on flight projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience and understanding of satellites, space sensors and ground systems used for space assets is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of NewSpace environment and Micro-Nano-Pico Satellite ecosystem is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and proficiency in task management.
  • Ability to help organize and manage a team of personnel, develop program schedules, and control budgets to meet required deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate across organizational boundaries and levels.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient communication skills, and ability to provide and receive constructive criticism.
  • Fluent English (oral and written) is mandatory.

Desired requirements

  • 2+ years of work experience in Space Industry and Program Management.
  • Management of institutional customers - such as ESA.
