We are seeking a world-class Senior RF design engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on designing a revolutionary massive beamforming receiver with an emphasis on achieving unparalleled performance at extremely low power consumption. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of innovation, pushing the boundaries of the technology to create groundbreaking solutions that will shape the future of satellite-based safety systems for critical infrastructure.

As part of your role, you will:

  • Lead the architecture and development of RF board designs;
  • Be able to design from schematic to layout RF boards;
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams spanning multiple time zones, including mechanical, antenna, DSP and software engineers to define system requirements and architecture;
  • Drive architectural decisions and provide technical leadership to ensure the successful implementation of cutting-edge RF technologies;
  • Take responsibility in setting up a new RF lab, including the installation and configuration of advanced test equipment;
  • Conduct thorough analysis, simulation, and characterization of RF circuits to optimize performance metrics such as power consumption, noise figure, linearity, dynamic range and thermal management;
  • Hands-on experience for qualifying and testing boards in RF chambers;
  • Establish requirements and link budgets to establish best architecture and component selection;
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in RF technology and contribute innovative ideas to keep our solutions at the forefront of the industry.

Qualifications/experience:

  • PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with a focus on RF is preferred;
  • Expertise in RF with specific experience in the following areas:
    • RF blocks used in receivers: LNAs, filters & VGA;
    • PCB Layout and board debugging and repair;
    • PLL & frequency synthesizers;
    • Analog to digital converters.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex RF designs from concept to production;
  • Experience in low power and ultra-low voltage designs;
  • AMS or other mixed-signal verification methodologies;
  • Expertise in RF simulation tools and familiar with standard RF measurement equipment;
  • Data-driven and evidence-based work methodology;
  • Experience in PCB design and Layout for RF frontends.

Strong candidates will also possess skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Strong understanding of RF system architectures and beamforming techniques;
  • Experience in direct sampling techniques with high-speed ADCs, and AMD/Xilinx RFSoC;
  • Experience with EMC measurements and standards;
  • Effective interfacing with digital signal processing engineers and FPGA developers;
  • Confident with scripting languages and track record of effective automation of repetitive tasks.
