GNC Engineer - Trajectory and Guidance

Mission Brief
As part of the Guidance, Navigation, & Control team, you will lead the technical development of the autopilot of the launch vehicle. You will be responsible for developing the necessary simulation environments, investigating launch vehicle configurations and implementing algorithms. Furthermore, you will actively drive the development of future GNC software.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
- Perform trajectory iterations as a vital part of the mission analysis;
- Support development of closed loop guidance schemes;
- Be able to perform, setup and analyze Monte Carlo simulations;
- Support the mission analysis and flight licensing procedure and documentation;
- Write and evaluate interdisciplinary GNC requirements to other departments;
- Develop and verify physical models (sloshing dynamics, flexible body dynamics, 6DOF rigid body dynamics, Vibration) for the purpose of controller design, filter selection and system performance evaluation.
Qualification Checklist
- Master’s degree or PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics or similar;
- At least 3 years of experience in mathematical modelling, development and validation of algorithms throughout the disciplines of Guidance, Navigation and Control;
- Strong background in mathematical modelling and data analysis in MATLAB and all relevant Tools (Simulink, Stateflow, autocoding etc.);
- Proficient in trajectory optimization using ASTOS;
- Proficient in data analysis in frequency and time domain with Python;
- Basic knowledge in rigid body and Orbit mechanics;
- Proficient in nonlinear system modelling;
- Experience with large software projects in GIT;
- Maintain and drive a high standard of technical documentation;
- Able to formulate technical requirements;
- Take responsibility for technical decisions;
- Willing to go the extra mile when needed.
