Your Mission

  • Evaluate SoW, technical specifications, interface documents and any inputs needed to perform Thermal analysis activities;
  • Create thermal mathematical models at the necessary level of detail in close co-operation with the Senior Thermal Analysis Responsible of the project and the line manager of the Structure System Engineering group;
  • Review and perform thermal analysis of mechanisms, instruments and spacecrafts;
  • Plan Thermal Tests and support test set-up design;
  • Review and perform predictions and correlations for Thermal Tests;
  • Review and elaborate technical reports / presentations regarding thermal analysis;
  • Write requirement specifications for the procurement of thermal hardware;
  • Support the other BUs within thermal field upon request;
  • Cooperates during Review and release of manufacturing and engineering drawings;
  • Cooperates with the design, materials & processes, and testing departments regarding cost-effective and timely technical solutions;
  • Participate in meetings and reviews and present his work;
  • Contribute actively to the improvement of expertise and efficiency of the Engineering Department (evaluation of new analysis methods, software tools, standardization...);
  • Plan, coordinate, monitor and support the technical project work in the area of thermal analysis;
  • Control budget and schedule of thermal analysis activities;
  • Answers RIDs of Projects Review.

Your Story

  • MSc or PhD preferably in Aerospace Engineering or in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Knowledge of SE methods (V-model, MBSE, Verification, Requirements Management);
  • >3 years of proven experience with thermal analysis tools: ESATAN-TMS, Systema/Thermica;
  • Experience reducing detailed thermal models (DTMM) to reduced thermal models (RTMM);
  • Knowledge of thermal hardware (heaters, MLI, heat pipes, thermal fillers, thermal sensors, thermal straps, ...) Thermal testing “hands-on” experience;
  • Good experience of programming with Python and FORTRAN;
  • Experience with FEM software to perform local thermal analysis of components;
  • Proficient use of CAD software (e.g. CATIA, Ansys SpaceClaim, …);
  • Negotiation Skills · Any specialist expertise is welcome (reliability analysis, thermal design, vacuum technology, …);
  • Willingness to support and drive new initiatives (proposals, R&D, product improvement, …);
  • Willingness to learn new tools and methods;
  • Fluent English.
