We are seeking a talented and proven Systems Engineer that has a passion for designing, implementing, and supporting large and complex customer satellite communications system integrations and services. We need someone that has a proven track record in satellite systems design, test, implementation, and support. We need someone who applies industry best practices methodologies and has a proven track record of working and collaborating with customers, defining, designing, implementing, and supporting their services and solutions. The systems Engineer is expected to interface with peers within Global Services and will require exceptional collaboration and communications skills at multiple levels within our organization as well as our customers as a trusted advisor.

This position requires a high-level of technical knowledge and experience of satellite access technology from ground RF baseband equipment to complex access platforms, IP Network design from WAN/LAN to security, QoS and network management protocols and systems. As part of the global services team, this role involves level 3 escalations from our NOC, customer experience management team as well as providing pre- and post-sales technical consultancy for both solutions, service, and account management.

Responsibilities

POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in implementing large enterprise level satellite communications solutions.
  • Satellite access platform technology from implementing and integrating large global ground access solutions & integrating enterprise level global remotes accessing these solutions.
  • IP network experience in WAN/LAN solutions covering routing, switching, acceleration, QoS, security, penetration, and monitoring technologies.
  • Project management experience including agile methodologies.
  • Exceptional documentation, customer validation and configuration management skills.
  • Fact based problem solver that always looks for the best & simplest solutions as well as long term continual service improvements.
  • Knowledge sharer, mentor, and trainer.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Strong background in Telecom infrastructure and technology.
  • ITIL service management certifications or proven experience.
  • Agile Project management experience.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

BS in Engineering, computer science or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications/training, or equivalent work experience.

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate at multiple levels, internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal.
