Your mission

As a Senior Avionics Engineer, (all genders) you will be responsible for the development and certification of all aspects of the Microliner's avionics, autoflight and low voltage electrical power systems. This is a broad role covering design, analysis and testing as part of the VAERIDION engineering organisation.

You will lead not only the technical aspects of the programme, but also to support the programme management, source selection and commercial aspects.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Proactively lead and execute technical tasks within the electrical/avionics department for Microliner development and certification, from capturing technical requirements to demonstrating compliance;
  • Contribute significantly to the definition, architecture, sizing, specification and development of the integrated avionics systems on the aircraft, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards;
  • Develop physical and functional interfaces (ICDs) between the integrated avionics systems, including autoflight and the low voltage electrical power distribution system, and the aircraft structural disciplines;
  • Coordinate electrical and avionics safety analysis and perform systems engineering tasks;
  • Plan, coordinate and perform electrical and avionics validation and verification activities in accordance with aerospace standards such as ARP4754;
  • Select, interact with and manage suppliers and take responsibility for work packages relating to the development and integration of all aspects of the avionics, autoflight and low voltage electrical power systems;
  • Manage the installation and integration of your systems at aircraft level.

Your profile

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent (Electrical/Electronic);
  • Minimum 10 years experience in integrated avionics & electrical systems and subsystems;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, other European languages a plus;
  • The ideal candidate will have worked on one or more aircraft development and certification programmes covering the full system development life cycle;
  • Broad experience with avionics systems including auto-flight, communications, navigation, surveillance, recording and control & indication (ATA 22, 23, 31 & 34);
  • Broad experience with Low Voltage Electrical Power Systems including energy storage, primary & secondary distribution (ATA 24);
  • Experience with the full development lifecycle from conceptual design through to certification (EASA/FAA Part 23 or 25);
  • Experience working in an EASA Part 21J Design Organization, or international equivalent;
  • Working knowledge of industry design & performance standards such as ASTM, SAE, RTCA and FAA/EASA (E)TSO would be a plus;
  • Working knowledge of Airborne hardware and software development assurance processes (RTCA DO-178 & 254) would be a plus;
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles for safety critical systems (SAE ARP 4754/4761) would be a plus;
  • Ability to interact efficiently with customer, authorities, suppliers and internal organizational units;
  • Proven ability to prioritize, manage and execute multiple simultaneous tasks;
  • Positive thinking, “Can do” attitude and working nature characterized by self-initiative, solution orientation, eagerness to learn, grow and apply new skills;
  • Passioned about aviation and electrification of aviation industry.
