To support our Company’s growth, we are looking for a motivated R&D Avionic System Engineer to join our Research and Development Unit.

This role offers the opportunity to work on inspiring projects, contributing to the development of cutting-edge technologies for next-generation space assets. The candidate will report to the Lead of the R&D Avionics Group and will work in a cross-functional team dedicated to the prototyping of new products and technologies.

The focus will be on designing and developing both hardware and software for On-Board Computers, Power Systems, and Telecommunication solutions, intended for both Earth's orbit and deep-space missions, including the Moon and Mars.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As an R&D Avionic System Engineer you will support and coordinate the development and testing activities for space applications, more specifically regarding avionics systems for satellites.

The activities will include (but not limited to):

  • Support with proposal preparation regarding Avionics R&D activities;
  • Trade-off analysis and definition of hardware and software architecture;
  • Planning of design, development, and test activities, including drafting of test plans for environmental qualification test campaigns;
  • Support for electrical schematics, layout, and manufacturing specifications;
  • Support for technical documents (Design Description, ICD, Test Procedures, Technical Specifications etc.).

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience;
  • At least 2 years of working experience;
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

  • Expertise in the design, development, and integration of avionics systems for satellites or other complex systems in industries such as aerospace, automotive, and defense;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges in space missions;
  • Ability to manage projects, including coordinating tasks, managing timelines, and ensuring projects stay on track and within budget.

ADDITIONAL ASSETS

  • Very good knowledge of the space standards (CCSDS, ECSS, MIL etc.);
  • Knowledge of design for EMC/EMI compliance;
  • Knowledge of FPGA devices;
  • Previous experience in design of space hardware;
  • Experience in Agile development approach;
  • Team player and a “Do what it takes” attitude;
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
