You’ll be part of an energetic team of four based in our brand new Zurich office. Your role will be pivotal in driving innovation and leading R&D projects, all while exploring and advancing cutting-edge technologies and creating value for our customers. Your mission

  • Perform concept studies to investigate feasibility of innovation projects;
  • Conduct relevant Design task with or without supervision;
  • Define and develop equipment as well as flight hardware in cross-functional teams;
  • Support product and subsystem development, incl design to cost;
  • Define analysis approaches to investigate mechanical design problems or verify solutions;
  • Establish analysis methods and create mathematical models for static and dynamic FE analysis;
  • Perform static and dynamic analyses, including detailed stress and strength verification analyses;
  • Perform test predictions, test evaluations and correlations;
  • Prepare technical documentation, deliverables, reports and presentations relevant to their field of work;
  • Familiarize with new analysis methods and apply them as needed;
  • Participate in technical meetings and reviews and present the work performed;
  • Support the line manager in the preparation of proposals for external customers with effort estimations and preliminary mechanical assessments and analyses;
  • Support customer negotiations and reviews with specialistic knowledge in their field of work;
  • Support project managers and line manager with periodic progress reporting;
  • Support product and process improvement initiatives;
  • Propose market-oriented initiatives to improve products and processes;
  • Coordinates, support and review the work of students doing theses;
  • Understand and comply with internal Business Process Management (BPM).

Your Story

  • University/ETH master’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering;
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an aerospace company (or equivalent relevant experience) in the fields of:
    • FE analysis (NASTRAN, Hyperworks and/or ABAQUS);
    • Mechanical engineering with CAD tools (prefered systems: Catia V5, Siemens NX).
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Nice to have’s:

  • Knowledge of the space industry and market;
  • Experience in large composite structures design and analysis (static, dynamic);
  • Experience in CFD analysis;
  • Experience in industrialisation of space products;
  • Hands-on and DIY aptitude to support prototyping.
