OHB LuxSpace is looking for motivated candidates to join our team for the exciting opportunity in the role of (Senior) Thermal Engineer (m/f/o). In the course of expanding its program and project activities, LuxSpace is recruiting an experienced thermal engineer (desirable 5 years + of thermal experience) for permanent employment.
Job Profile
An experienced Thermal Engineer is required to complement the mechanics, thermal and propulsion team at LuxSpace.
Typical Tasks to be performed
- Thermal analysis and design (ESATAN) at spacecraft level;
- Design analysis;
- Test prediction (thermal balance, TVac);
- Test correlation;
- Launch prediction;
- Flight prediction analysis;
- Technical supplier management;
- Review of interface control documents;
- Review of thermal analyses and tests;
- Requirements engineering;
- Thermal test preparation and execution;
- Test planning and preparation;
- Test execution and live screening of test results;
- Test report generation;
- Other tasks and duties assigned by manager(s);
- Temporarily or permanently performing other reasonable and equivalent duties.
Ideal Candidate Profile and Qualities
- Experience to work in the aerospace/space industry, preferably having working experience with ESA;
- University degree (Master/Diploma/PhD) or equivalent in a relevant field;
- Experience in thermal engineering (desirable 5y+), gained in a professional position, preferably in the Space industry with focus on micro satellites;
- Proficient in mastering relevant thermal software tools (e.g. ESATAN including FORTRAN);
- Mechanical analysis and design is considered a strong asset;
- Mastering relevant mechanical software tools (e.g. SolidWorks, Hyperworks) is considered a strong asset;
- Experience in thermal test (preparation, execution and correlation), ideally at satellite level;
- Hands-on experience;
- Excellent sense of responsibility;
- Structured hands-on work-approach;
- Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Customer oriented thinking-approach;
- Positive spirit to work and interface with a multinational team;
- Readiness to work flexible where necessary in line with project needs and schedules;
- Willingness to travel for business and to be part of a collocated team for a limited time (e.g. at test facility);
- Languages: Good English skills (spoken and written) is a must.
