The Commercial Department is seeking a dynamic and proactive Business Developer to join the team and report to the Business Development Team Leader. This role offers a unique opportunity to take responsibility for the entire business development lifecycle, including pre-sales, sales, and post-sales activities. You will play a key role in the acquisition of programs, projects, and product sales.

Your responsibilities will include leading or supporting the acquisition process for RFPs/RFQs, identifying customer needs, and defining tailored solutions. You will manage our product/service sales opportunities, preparing and delivering proposals and offers, and engaging in negotiations to secure contracts. Once contracts are acquired, you will oversee contract execution, managing all related commercial responsibilities to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction throughout the lifecycle. Additionally, you will be responsible for contract management and may take on account management as needed.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with various internal departments and relevant external parties during the preparation phases, both from a vendor and customer perspective. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, alongside managing the commercial relationship with project subcontractors.

The position requires an individual who is proactive, with strong communication and negotiation skills. You must be comfortable working in a collaborative environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously. The role also requires willingness and flexibility to travel and work in remote locations when necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead negotiations and close deals for high-value communications services at Senior Management level, ensuring success in the highly competitive market.
  • Manage cross-departmental bid teams, ensuring smooth collaboration and driving successful large-scale bids.
  • Lead or support the preparation of tender responses and commercial proposals, collaborating closely with engineering and operations teams.
  • Proactively engage with potential customers, identifying their needs and fostering strong, lasting relationships.
  • Utilize excellent communication skills and negotiation skills to persuade and engage key stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Identify customer requirements and act as a local point of contact for existing and potential customers within your area of responsibility.
  • Lead and conduct market research and analysis efforts, staying ahead of market trends and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with partners, driving business development efforts across various areas, including lead generation, negotiation, proposal management, and product/service development.
  • Ensure alignment between business goals and customer expectations, driving successful product/service use cases and customer engagement strategies. Identify and coordinate the development of new products/services that meet customer requirements.
  • Promote EmTroniX’s brand, building strong relationships and partnerships with customers and stakeholders. Cultivate customer engagement through use cases, targeted solutions, and strategic messaging.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • In-depth knowledge of the European space market, including trends, emerging opportunities, and challenges.
  • Strong bid management skills, with a strategic and organized approach to managing complex tenders and contracts.
  • Possess established network and contacts within civil and defence administrations across European, national, or pan-regional levels. Experience in engaging with key organizations such as the European Commission and the European Space Agency (ESA) is highly valued.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand customers’ business and create actionable insights that position EmTroniX products as the ideal solution.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a university degree in Engineering, Marketing, Commerce, or a relevant field, or an MBA/Business Management degree (MBA preferred).
  • Bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the telecommunications services, space, or electronics production industries, with a proven ability to generate business and achieve sales success. Experience in the NewSpace sector is a plus.
  • Demonstrate hands-on experience in commercial and public sector deal structuring, with the ability to negotiate and close high-value communications services deals at the Senior Management level.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to make decisions that drive business success.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential, with the knowledge of other languages seen as a bonus.
