As our AIT engineer, you will be working on the full AIT life-cycle, from planning and execution to verification compliance for all aspects of assembly, integration and testing. You will be responsible for all AIT activities and leading on the required ground support equipment, as well as contributing to the AIT strategy to support the coordinated effort for the satellite design qualification.

You will be responsible for collecting technical requirements for satellite integration and it's qualification, identifying potential roadblocks, schedule, facilities and GSE, whilst expected to come up with efficient solutions to issues associated with new satellite development projects. You will build and provide support with technical specifications, overall system integration and V&V strategy. This role is hands-on experience, requiring close collaboration with ReOrbit’s technical and system engineering teams.

ReOrbit is eager to meet a candidate who is proactive, works both autonomously and collaboratively as part of the team, with the capability to communicate with internal teams and external partners and is confident to deliver a successfully assembled and tested GEO satellite.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all AIT activities at satellite level, facilities and for Ground Support Equipment (GSE);
  • Contribute to developing assembly and test plans, procedures and technical specifications based on engineering and project requirements;
  • Analyse system and component configurations, determining assembly sequences, and identifying required tools, equipment, resources, and time saving opportunities;
  • Provide support and work closely with other engineering teams to improve designs, gather requirements and relevant information for the overall AIT process, including vendors and suppliers;
  • Identify AIT activities’ open issues and provide possible solutions;
  • Manage, define and support component reception, integration and testing, including schedules for project management planning;
  • Specify GSE, manage and support its definition, including reception and schedules for project management planning;
  • Work hands on with the satellite, with a focus on the electrical integration and structural integrity of the platform and payload;
  • Define setups, equipment and facilities required to successful execution of system level functional and environmental testing to verify functionality and performance;
  • Ensure that integrated systems meet specified requirements;
  • Coordinate integration of multiple subsystems and manage integration schedules;
  • Prepare, maintain and review technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including assembly procedures, test plans, test specifications, test results, and compliance documentation. This includes reporting, identifying non-conformities, and implementing corrective actions;
  • Oversee need of spares and consumables, plan and organize resources.

Skills & Requirements

  • A minimum 7 years' experience in a similar position for GEO satellite developments;
  • Experience in AIT campaign for GEO satellite developments;
  • Experience with TRR and TRB milestones components and entire systems;
  • Hand-on experience involving mechanical mounting, measurements, use of tooling, testing equipment, soldering, wiring, thermal hardware integration;
  • Experience with component integration readiness, alignment measurements, electric and RF tests, leak test, mass properties, environmental testing, EMI/EMC, functional and compatibility tests;
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing satellite AIT plan to verify system functionality and performance;
  • Experience specifying equipment, instruments, software and methodologies to conduct various test types (incl. functional and environmental), including vibration equipment and its instrumentation;
  • Proficiency in assembling components and systems according to engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures;
  • Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve integration issues;
  • Programming, scripting and test automation experience;
  • Knowledge of statistical data analysis and ability to analyse large amount of test data to derive conclusions;
  • Knowledge of ECSS/NASA standards, processes, and methodologies.

Desired

  • Background in electronic or mechanical engineering is preferred, with understanding of complementary engineering disciplines related to AIT processes.
