We are seeking a talented Combustion Device Design Engineer to join our Propulsion Systems division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing combustion devices for cryogenic rocket engines.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the functional and hydraulic design of combustion devices;
- Review subsystem requirements and carry out trades to define combustion device architecture;
- Lead combustion devices components and assembly test campaigns (configuration definition, test preparation, execution and results analyses);
- Develop and update fluidic models based on literature review and/or experimental data;
- Iterate subsystem designs using simulated and/or real-world test data.
What we would love to see from you:
- Master’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline with a minimum of 3 years of related experience;
- Hands-on experience developing hardware from concept to working prototypes;
- Strong technical fundamentals in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and heat transfer;
- Proficient with CAD (Siemens NX is an asset), or other design and analysis (FLUENT or OpenFOAM preferred) software ;
- A system engineering approach to problem-solving and design trades;
- Experience writing software in languages like Python;
- Familiar with cryogenic fluids is an asset.
