Role Overview
As a Structural Engineer at Aerospacelab, you will play a critical role in designing and verifying of satellites and related systems across various missions. You are involved in project from early design phase to qualification of the product. From the early design phase to the qualification of the final product, you collaborate closely with a diverse team such as system engineers, mechanical designers, and thermal engineers and AIT (integration and test) department. All together, you validate that the equipment is not only ready to fly but also capable of fulfilling its mission reliably.
Key responsabilities
- You perform the analysis and define the required test needed to validate the product. This includes:
- Vibration, vibro-acoustic and thermo-mechanical analysis of spacecraft’s structures and subsystems;
- Correlation of the models through experimental analysis;
- Concept trade-off, carry out overall design studies;
- Structural verification (stress, bolt analysis, …);
- Translation of launch and flight environment into product requirements, including the definition of environment at subsystem levels;
- Definition and follow up of environmental validation setup and tests.
- Depending on the project phase, you are in the front line with suppliers, customers or launch authorities regarding structural aspects.
Must have
- MSc or PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field;

- Demonstrated ability to work across the team and company to drive designs to completion;
- Fluency in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with Nastran, Simcenter 3D and Simcenter Testlab;
- Vibration testing experience (shaker testing, experimental modal analysis, and correlation);
- Experience with space environment requirements;
- Task automation skills through scripts (Python, VBA);
- Experienced in troubleshooting issues and finding solutions;
- Knowledge of 3D CAD modelling/2D drawing specifications (SolidWorks/NX), experience with sizing of metallic components, and manufacturing technologies and drawings.
